At Progressive Dental we count on our assistants to act as Dr. Salah's second, or even third pair of hands during the day. Between the experiences they brought to our team and Dr. Salah's careful training, they are uniquely qualified to: supervise our sterilization area, expose and develop radiographs (x-rays) fabricate temporary restorations, take dental impressions and mix various adhesives. They also prepare a whole host of dental materials and equipment so that Dr. Salah can provide you, the patient, with outstanding, timely dental care.

One of the primary missions of our practice is the prevention of dental disease and dental problems. At the heart of that mission is our dental hygiene department.
All of our hygienists are college graduates with several years in dentistry even before they entered dental hygiene school.
Dr. Salah insists that his hygienists take the most up to date continuing classes in periodontal therapy (the detection and treatment of diseases of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth). So in addition to their many hours of college class room time, the hygiene staff is always reading journals, keeping up to date on new products and taking classes.
Kolleen's interest in dentistry started at a young age. She took a dental assisting course while in high school, then worked as a dental assistant while studying dental hygiene at Ferris State University. She has been working as a dental hygienist since she graduated from Ferris State in 1991. Because of her background in both dental assisting and hygiene she has a vast understanding of all dental needs. She loves working with Dr. Salah and the rest of the staff here at Progressive Dental. She works hard to make our patients comfortable when at the office while she improves their dental health and helps to educate them on how to keep a healthy, beautiful smile.
